The pool alarm was developed by Stan Martinovic, after years of interest from pool shop customers enquiring about child safety around swimming pools. Stan also developed the Surf-Alert after almost drowning at a beach, when no lifesaver even noticed he was in trouble after a current slowly dragged him outside the flagged area and into a strong rip. He then realised that there needed to be a way for a swimmer to contact a lifeguard in an easier way. He then developed the surf-alert, which can also be used as a man overboard device for boaties as well as to find lost bushwalkers. |
